A new Trebuchet game

By: Ron  on: 05/04/2009 11:55 pm  (4073 Reads)
There's a new trebuchet game out there. Quite enjoyable!
Level 17 is particularly hard, but do-able, and the princess at the end is nearly impossible to kill, but I finally got her too. Plus, it's a very nice looking trebuchet!

Trebuchets vs. walls: quetions and answers on the web

By: System Administrator  on: 12/14/2008 12:09 pm  (4773 Reads)
Here's a new report published recently-

Medieval Siege Weaponry: Castle Walls Beware (external link)

excerpt: "A ferocious example of medieval siege weaponry came online in the 12th century with the deploying of the trebuchet."

The article is an interesting perspective on history, but clearly one without any practical experience in the art of hurling. Perhaps a few comments would help flesh out his understanding.

And elsewhere on the web, TimmyT asks:

"How many projectiles would a trebuchet (or a group of trebuchets) have to launch in order for it to totally destroy a castle or fortress?"

New system, new server

By: System Administrator  on: 11/08/2008 11:12 pm  (3972 Reads)
We've upgraded the software and the server hosting TheHurl.org, so you'll probably notice some changes. Most notably, the site is much faster now! However, we've already had one user mention problems reading forum messages. If you notice any problems or have trouble using the new system, please send me an email, or go to http://www.RLT.com/support (external link) and use that system to report problems. Use as much detail as possible, including browser type and version, what pages you were trying to look at (forums, wiki, images, etc.) and anything else that might be helpful.

Thanks, and have fun!

Thomas, 12:22 am, 02/04/2010: Actually it makes very little difference who's up or down as long as we don't fall off. But some maps seem to get printed with the text upside down, which is sort of hard to read. Whether one has been drinking all week or not.
Murray, 02:18 pm, 02/03/2010: Actually no that wasn't me, that was our Australian brother and I was responding. I didn't correct him as its never good to confuse Australians with radical new concepts like "up" or "down" when there's a chance they may have been drinking. (Mon to Sun)
Thomas, 08:50 pm, 02/01/2010: Thanks for the clarification, Murray. I thought you said you were on the bottom, moreso than the Aussies.
Murray, 07:07 pm, 02/01/2010: We call it summer because its summer. You all at the bottom of the world can call it what you like. More votes don't make you less wrong. And we're having aminor heat wave here. Mind you the heat wave is only slightly warmer than the winter was.
Thomas, 03:15 pm, 02/01/2010: Question for Antipodeans: Do you call this time of year Summer, or do you consider Winter your hot season?
