- For questions and answers about the art and science of hurling, use the Forums.
- If you're working on a project, use the Blogs to keep track of it, and to keep the rest of the community informed about your project and its results.
- Submit a news article or a link to other web pages too!
- Use the Wiki and the FAQs to look for information, or to contribute some if you think others might find it useful too. We especially need help building the wiki.
Here's how wikis work - it's simple. Just create a page with whatever info you think is interesting, useful or whatever. It doesn't have to be great or even complete. Just something. Then other people can edit it, add to it, improve it, again and again and again, until we end up with some really good pages.
Here's some ideas for starter pages- we need one for every kind of catapult and trebuchet out there, how-to do things, like calculate your efficiency or make a trigger, major annual events, competitions and organizations, historical notes, technical notes, notable personalities, jargon and tangential topics like the best pumpkins for hurling, species of lumber, TV shows and movies, etc. etc. etc. Just throw anything in there. It will be improved over time.
TheHurl started out as a simple message board at Trebuchet.com way back in 1994. Since then, it has become the on-line epicenter of catapult design, construction and competition information. It is a friendly and helpful community of folks dedicated to having fun and spreading the joy of engineering to kids and hobbyists worldwide.
